What is a group medical visit?
A group medical visit is where several patients have a visit with one doctor. At this time, group medical visits will be held as a video visit. They are held discreetly, as only Dr. Travis Pagliara will be speaking and only he and his name will be shown to others on the screen.
What topics will he talk to us about?
Dr. Pagliara is an expert in urology topics that men have and can help with problems and how to maintain urology health.
Male urology is defined as a part of health care that deals with diseases of the male urinary (urine) tract (kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra). It also deals with the male organs that are able to make babies and have sex (penis, testes, scrotum, prostate, etc.). Since health problems in these body parts can happen to everyone, urologic health is important.
He will cover:
- Erectile dysfunction (ED - when a man can't get or keep an erection)
- View Dr. Pagliaro's video on this topic.
- Incontinence (urine leakage)
- Stress incontinence - leaking when doing activity like coughing, bending or lifting.
- Urge incontinence - a sudden and/or overwhelming urge to urinate making it hard to get to the bathroom in time.
- View Dr. Pagliaro's video on this topic.
- Prostate issues (your prostate gland is located just below the bladder in men and surrounds the top portion of the tube that drains urine from the bladder (urethra). The prostate's primary function is to produce the fluid that nourishes and transports sperm.
- Prostate cancer
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPN) - BPN is having an enlarged prostate which can be common as men get older. An enlarged prostate gland can cause uncomfortable urinary symptoms, such as blocking the flow of urine out of the bladder.
- Low testosterone which is a condition in which the testes (testicles, the male reproductive glands) do not produce enough testosterone (a male sex hormone). Low testosterone affects almost 40% of men aged 45 and older.
Can we ask questions?
Yes. Dr. Pagliara will show you how to ask questions on the video group visit without identifying your face or name.
How long is the visit and what happens after?
The visit will last about 40- 50 minutes. When you make your appointment, you will also register for a personal 15-minute appointment with Dr. Pagliara between the times of 9 am and 11:30 am on that very same morning. This will give you time to ask questions or understand what personal issues you may be having or what he would recommend. This may be all you need, or you can see Dr. Pagliara on a follow up future visit.
Am I billed for this?
You will be billed for this with your insurance as a regular medical visit.
How do I make the appointment to join this group medical visit?
Call the appointment line 612-873-6963 and ask to make an appointment with Dr. Pagliara with his June 24 group medical visit. They will also ask you what will work for your personal 15-minute appointment as well.
Translators are available on request.
